Submission Guidelines

What

Six lines. Any form. Any style.

Send up to three poems in each submission. Can include intentionally blank/silent lines, for example a 4 line poem with two lines of silence totally counts.Though theirs is a love story, Persephone’s Fruit is not limited to romantic love. Send up to six lines of a spell, the budding manifesto, a deeply held desire, your midnight prayers.

Evoke the yearning, give us chills.

Who

All writers.

Anyone who is aligned with our myth & mission is welcome to submit their work for consideration at Persephone’s Fruit. We value the many unique lenses through which we experience this [Under]world. Persephone‘s Fruit is intentionally condensed into tiny seeds, because while many of us can consume a sonnet or epic love story, some of us can only take in a few of seeds at a time.

So you have six lines to evoke the magic, to show us the depths these tiny beauties can hold.

Without

Yes to the secrets, the hidden, the passion; but while we honor all that lay in the shadows, this is a safe literary space and we do not publish anything that’s themed around bigotry, assault, or unjust harm in any form.

Do not send anything nonconsensual or that intends/depicts direct harm to another; be it a spell or poem or story. Sending anything like this will result in being blocked, reported,

and hexed.

Where

Submit as a DM through twitter.

If you’d like us to tag you in the post, please be sure to include your social media handles with your submission. It is the hope that once we publish 33 pieces, we will do a small print run of each 33-page volume. More details about that will be provided by email if it applies, and each contributor will receive details, terms, and request for consent prior to any use other than appearing on social media and our website.

Your rights are always yours, and you can always do with your own writing as you & your muses please.

How

Currently, we’re accepting submissions via DM on twitter at @Persephone_lit.

To preserve the essence of rawness in writing, no cover letter or polished document is needed. Copy & paste from your notes app, screen shot your midnight journal, message the desperate drafts you never sent. Just keep it simple.

Include with each submission:

1) your name (or alias)

2) pronouns

3) email address

4) instagram & twitter handles (for tagging & crediting your publication)

5) one single link to you (website/linktree/messenger raven’s name/etc.)
